Welcome!  The Trail Hound Gear Shop was established in 1999 to promote outdoor activities with dogs. Trail Hound Gear Shop's retail operation in Asheville, North Carolina (1999-2004) was a nationally acclaimed hiking store for dogs and their people. What started as a retail operation is now a branded product line that includes packs, reflective capes, leashes, collars, booties, bear-bells, travel bowls, logo wear and unique trail accessories.

Much of the gear is hand-crafted at our studio in Fines Creek, North Carolina. Experience in hiking with our own dogs in the Blue Ridge and Pisgah Mountains near our home give us a unique perspective on what dogs and their human companions need to be well-outfitted on their hikes.
